Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, Ludhiana, organised an impactful Anti-Bullying Awareness Session for Class XII students, focusing on the importance of emotional intelligence, respectful communication and responsible choices in building a positive school environment. The session was led by Dr. Navpreet Bhathal, Psychologist, BVM Group of Schools.
Moving beyond conventional discussions on bullying, the session encouraged students to examine how words, gestures, exclusion, online interactions and peer pressure can influence another person’s emotional well-being. Through thought-provoking interactions and practical situations, students reflected on the difference between harmless humour and behaviour that causes humiliation, fear or distress.
The session also highlighted the importance of setting healthy boundaries, communicating assertively, seeking help without hesitation and supporting peers who may feel vulnerable. Students were encouraged to become mindful of their digital behaviour and understand that responsible citizenship extends to online spaces as well.
Principal Mrs. Ranju Mangal emphasised, “The real strength of a student lies not in the power to dominate others, but in the wisdom to respect them. As you step towards the wider world, learn to use your words with sensitivity, your influence with responsibility and your courage to stand up for what is right.
